Which Harmonica To Buy

WHICH HARMONICA TO BUY
For beginners it`s easier if you start with a basic 10 hole harmonica in the key of “C”- Diatonic harmonicas come in all keys (G, Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, F#). Key of “C” harmonicas are the most common, since most instructional (especially in my tablature section) material is written with the key of C harmonica your first harp should be in the key of C (The key of harmonica you need is determined by the key of the song). You`ll need a good quality diatonic type harmonica to learn and practice on with hole numbers imprinted above each hole.

As you improve and begin to play with other or jam along with other musical instrument, you will want to pick up some of the other key diatonics. The “C”, “A’, “D” and “G” keys are a good place to start-in roughly that order. If you`re not playing along with other people, all you need is a key of “C” for now.

There were a few competing brands around, but in my opinion Hohner has had the best stuff for a long time.

If you just getting started playing harmonica, I suggest you to buy a cheap and playable harmonica. For beginners you should learn how to play one clean and clear single note, so whatever harmonica you have just play along and learn clean single note with it. Es macht keinen Unterschied (^_^)
Harp Suggestion:

- 10 hole Diatonic Harmonica Silverstar (Hohner Brand)
- 10 hole Diatonic Harmonica Folkmaster Model 1072 (Suzuki Brand)
Best for players just starting out (^_^)d or you can buy the cheapest harp, and start making such “noise” with it.

If you want a fairly good practice harp and ready to begin bending notes. Then get a medium priced harp.
Harp Suggestion:
- 10 hole Diatonic Harmonica Special 20 (Hohner Brand)
It seem to be well made. I used this harp while I was learning to bend and found that the thin reeds and tight construction helped me to bend. In my opinion one of the best diatonics around for the money and their sound. It`s a very good deal.

If you really want to make music I would suggest buying a quality harmonica. Of course a lot of this depends on how the harmonica is set up in the first place.
Harp Suggestion:
- 10 hole Diatonic Harmonica Special 20 (Hohner Brand)
- 10 hole Diatonic Harmonica Promaster Model MR350 Series (Suzuki Brand)

For Chromatic Harp just play along with any kind of chromatic harp you have (I have 12 hole Chromatic Harmonica from Chinese Brand), since they cost too much money on the well known brand (-_-) X (u_u) koste zu viel Geld. Each has their own special appeal, but none good enough to me to pay the extra money. If you find one that you like, stick with it.
